THE PITCH
Capsule (Beta) is a web-based video editing app that lets you quickly edit videos by simply editing the text transcript.
THE EXPERIENCE
After signing up for the free-tired version, you land on a clean dashboard with a three-minute onboarding video. The video gives you a quick overview of the platform, allowing you to jump in and start editing quickly.
You often hear the words “magic” and “AI” thrown together when a company talks about its product. Still, there is something magical about how it transcribes your video clip and allows you to edit that text to edit the video-in real-time.
In addition, you can add graphics (even your own), animated text, and “bumpers” to your clips by selecting from a few premade motion graphics. These allow limited customization, such as colors, fonts, animation speed, and sizes.
Finally, Capsule will suggest some music to match the pace of your video. You can choose your own by describing what you want, like texting a prompt. Currently, there does not seem to be a way to add your own music.
THE VERDICT
Capsule is one of the better AI-powered apps that delivers on its simple premise: an editing tool for content and marketing teams. You won’t find a fully featured editing suite here with features like color correcting. It is an app made for quick editing jobs and even jobs in a pinch.

- Subscription-based with free-to-enterprise level tiers
- Automatically improve your audio with the press of a button
- Managing your music, animations, and graphics for your videos is somewhat cumbersome
- Wide selection of social media format sizes to edit and export your final video
- It can automatically remove all filler words like “uhhhs,” “umms,” etc.
- Currently in beta with new features to come
